"But you can reach the cookies on the table,"

“可是你能够拿到桌子上的小饼干呀，”

said Mouse."Please share one with me."

“请分给我一块吧!”小老鼠说。

And Puppy did.

小狗这样做了。

"I'm too small !" wailed Puppy.

“我太小了，”

"I can't pull my toy box."

“没法拉动玩具箱，”小狗闷闷不乐地说。

"But you can pull my wagon full of dear ones ,"

“可是你能够拉动坐满小宝宝的小车，”

Mrs Bunny said. "Would you? "

“不是吗?”小兔的妈妈说。

And Puppy did.

然后小狗这样做了。

"I'm too small ! " wailed Puppy.

“我太小啦!”小狗闷闷不乐地说。

"I can't climb the tree."

“我没法爬上树。”

"But you can swing from it ," said Squirrel.

“可是你能够在上面荡秋千啊，”

"Please swing with me."

“和我一起荡吧!”小松鼠说。

And Puppy did.

小狗这样做了。

"I'm too small !" wailed puppy.

“我太小了!”小狗闷闷不乐地说。

"I can't dig a hole big enough to play in."

“我没法挖个好玩的大坑。”

Chipmunk said,"This is just right for my acorns."

“这个正好可以放我的橡果，”

"Will you let me use it?"

“可以给我用吗?”花栗鼠说。

And Puppy did.

小狗这样做了。

"I'm too small !" wailed Puppy.

“我太小了!”小狗闷闷不乐地说。

"I can't hammer on the workbench."

“我没法在工作台上钉钉子。”

"you can fit under it and fix the leg ," Daddy said.

And Puppy did.

Mama helped Puppy get ready for bed.

"Today," she said,

"you have reached a cookie on the table,

pulled a wagon full of dear ones,

swung on a swing,

“荡了秋千”

dug a hole for acorns,

“挖了一个放橡果的洞，”

fixed a leg on the workbench,

and carried a sewing basket.

“拿起了针线篮。”

"why?" asked Puppy.

"Because you are just the right size !" said Mama.

And she gave Puppy a hug, a kiss, and a squeeze.
