The children were doing a project with Mrs May about life in Victorian times.

May老师在带着孩子们完成一项关于维多利亚时期生活的研究。

“Life was hard for lots of children,” said Mrs May.

May老师说，“那个时代对很多孩子来说是很苦的，”

“Most children didn’t have new shoes, or go to school,” she said.

“大多数的孩子没有新鞋子可穿，也没有学上。 ”她说。

“School was different, too” said Mrs May. “The teachers were very strict.”

“Is it true that the teacher could frighten the children with a ruler?” asked Biff.

“Yes, it’s true,” said Mrs May.

We are going to Duke History Park tomorrow. Said Mrs May.

“We will see what it was like in Victorian schools,” she said.

The next day, they went to Duke History Park.

The children put on costumes.
