海尼曼分级阅读是专门针对非英语母语国家儿童学习的一套分级阅读教材，这套教材最大的特色在于低级别，一本书一个句型，每本书的文字几乎都是同样的句式，通过同一句式的反复出现，在重复中不经意的为孩子输入一些英语句法，让孩子在没有接触英语语法的前提下，只是通过阅读，就能非常容易记住内容，并学会正确表达。

整个海尼曼系统按照A-Z 26个字母来分级，在整个基础上还按照年级的顺序进行分级(GRADE K, GRADE 1,GRADE 2……)。

国内版海尼曼分级读物分三个级别，Gk，G1，G2，3个分级共298本。海尼曼三个级别分别对应英美国家的幼儿园，小学一年级和小学二年级，每个级别里面又划分了多个等级，让孩子可以循序渐进的适应更高级别的学习。

G2系列(Blue System)：共120本，分为Level C—Level N，十三个层次。60%小说故事以及40%非小说。

孩子读完了G1，就可以读G2，G2就与牛津的五六级别并驾齐驱(适合国内1年级至6年级孩子阅读)

绘本内容及翻译：

"Can we play outside?" asked Roxy. Mother looked out the window.

"Yes," she said."Just don't get muddy. It rained last night."

Roxy and Andy ran outside.

“我们能到外面玩吗?”罗克西问。妈妈看向窗外。

“可以，”她说。“只是不要弄到身上泥巴，昨晚下过雨。”

罗克西和安迪跑了出去。

The sun was hot and the grass was dry. But there was a big,muddy puddle in the middle of the yard. Roxy ran right up to the puddle.

"Mother said not to get muddy!"said Andy.

"I'm not!" said Roxy.

太阳很热，草很干。但是院子的中间有个满是泥浆的大水池。罗克西一直跑到水池边。

“妈妈说不能弄到身上泥巴!”安迪说。

“我不会的!”罗克西说。

But it was so hot, and the water looked so cool! Roxy put her toes into the puddle.

"Mother will get angry." said Andy.

"I'm just putting my toes in," said Roxy.

但是，天气太热了，池水看起来很凉爽!罗克西把她的脚趾伸到了水池中。

“妈妈会生气的。”安迪说

“我只是把脚趾伸进来了而已。”罗克西说。

Roxy stepped into the puddle with all four feet. She wiggled her toes. Thick mud squished between them.

Andy wiggled his toes in the dry grass. But they just felt hot.

罗克西把四只脚都放入了水池中。她活动着她的脚趾。泥浆在它们之间发出吧唧吧唧的声音。

安迪在干草上活动着脚趾。但是它们还是觉得很热。

Roxy splashed some water on her legs.

"This water feels so good!" she said.

Andy watched the water run down Roxy's thick fun. He felt very,very hot.

罗克西把一些水泼到她的腿上。

“这水让我感觉太好了!”她说。

安迪看着罗克西饶有兴趣的玩水。他觉得非常非常热。

Roxy stomped her feet. Then she yelled,"Watch me dance!" She jumped and twirled and splashed. She yipped and giggled and laughed. Mud few all around

罗克西用脚使劲的踩着。然后她欢呼着，“看我跳舞!”她跳着，旋转着，泼洒着泥水。她欢呼着，咯咯地笑着。泥水到处都是。

"I can't stand it! I'm coming in!" called Andy.

He ran as fast as he could and made the biggest splash of all.

Sound Roxy and Andy were brown,muddy messes! They were having so much fun, they fogot all about what Mother had said.

“我不能站着了，我进来了!”安迪喊道。

他以最快的速度跑进去，并且踩了一个最大的水花。

棕色的，满身泥巴的，脏乱的罗克西和安迪玩的多么的酣畅淋漓啊!他们对此太感兴趣了，以至于他们完全忘记了妈妈刚才的叮嘱。

But Mother didn't foget.

"Roxy? Andy?" she called.

但是妈妈却没有忘记。

“罗克西?安迪?”她喊道。

Mother marched up to them. She did not look happy. "What did I tell you about getting muddy?" she said.

"Oh, no!" said Roxy. She dashed out of the puddle. "We forget!"

"We're sorry!" said Andy,running just as fast.

妈妈快速跑到他们身边，她看起来很不高兴。“关于粘到身体上泥巴，我是怎么告诉你们的?”她说。

“噢，不!”罗克西从水池中冲出来说。“我们忘记了!”

“对不起!”安迪快速的跑出来说。
