海尼曼分级阅读是专门针对非英语母语国家儿童学习的一套分级阅读教材，这套教材最大的特色在于低级别，一本书一个句型，每本书的文字几乎都是同样的句式，通过同一句式的反复出现，在重复中不经意的为孩子输入一些英语句法，让孩子在没有接触英语语法的前提下，只是通过阅读，就能非常容易记住内容，并学会正确表达。

整个海尼曼系统按照A-Z 26个字母来分级，在整个基础上还按照年级的顺序进行分级(GRADE K, GRADE 1,GRADE 2……)。

国内版海尼曼分级读物分三个级别，Gk，G1，G2，3个分级共298本。海尼曼三个级别分别对应英美国家的幼儿园，小学一年级和小学二年级，每个级别里面又划分了多个等级，让孩子可以循序渐进的适应更高级别的学习。

G2系列(Blue System)：共120本，分为Level C—Level N，十三个层次。60%小说故事以及40%非小说。

孩子读完了G1，就可以读G2，G2就与牛津的五六级别并驾齐驱(适合国内1年级至6年级孩子阅读)

Once there was a bluebird who liked to brag. He looked at the sky,he looked at his wings and he smiled.

"How fine I look!"thought the bluebird."I am as blue as sky!"

The bluebird flew high and low in the blue sky.

从前有一只自大的知更鸟，他看了看天空，看了看他自己的翅膀，然后他笑了。

“我看起来多漂亮啊。”知更鸟想到，“我像天空一样蓝。”

知更鸟在空中飞上飞下。

The bluebird saw a mouse."Hello!"said the bluebird to the mouse. “It is a beautiful day, isn't it?”

"Yes.it is a beautiful day."said the mouse. "The sky is a beautiful blue."

"I am bule, too." said the bluebird. "I am beautiful,like the blue sky."

"Oh,"sighed the mouse."I am not blue,I am gray." I am not the color of the sky."

The bluebird laughed and flew away.

知更鸟看到一只老鼠。“你好。”知更鸟对老鼠说。“今天天气真好啊，是吗?”

“是的，今天天气很好。”老鼠说。“天空是美丽的蓝色。”

“我也是蓝色的。”知更鸟说。“我像蓝色的天空一样美丽。”

“噢。”老鼠叹气道，“我不是蓝色，我是灰色，我不是天空的颜色。”

知更鸟笑着飞走了。

"Oh,"said the flamingo."I am not the color of the sky."The flamingo was angry.He flew away without saying good-bye.

“是的。”火烈鸟说。“这是个又好又晴朗的天。”

“看，蓝色的天空。”知更鸟说。“我也是蓝色的，像天空一样。”

“我是粉色的，”火烈鸟说。

“蓝色比粉色好看。”知更鸟自夸道。“蓝色是天空的颜色!”
