内容简介：农场主Brown(布朗)遇到麻烦了，整天都听见农场里传来咔哩、咔啦的打字声——他的奶牛迷上了打字。这以后，新的麻烦接踵而来：奶牛们说谷仓里太冷，要求Brown提供电热毯，不给就罢工停止供应牛奶;之后，奶牛还拉上同盟军——母鸡，为母鸡也争取电热毯，不给就停止供应鸡蛋。Brown火冒三丈，给奶牛和母鸡下达最后通牒，并由中立派——鸭子携通牒去见奶牛。奶牛们星夜开会，双方达成一致意见：Brown提供电热毯，母牛们则把打字机交由鸭子带回。不过，Brown没等到鸭子带回打字机。鸭子扣留了打字机，并打了一张纸条给Brown：“住在池塘里没意思，请送块跳水板给我们吧!”……
Farmer Brown has a problem.

Then,he couldn't believe his eyes.

The barn is very cold at night.

We'd like some electric blankets.

It was bad enough the cows had found the old typewriter in
the harn,now they wanted electric blankets!'No way.'said Farmer
Brown.'No electric blankets.'
这些奶牛，它们在谷仓里翻出来一个旧打字机还不够，居然还得寸进尺地想要电热毯!“没门!”布朗嚷嚷着“我的谷仓不提供电热毯”
So the cows went on strike.
They left a note on the harn door.
他们在谷仓门口留了个字条，上面写着：
Sorry.
We're closed.
No milk
today.
抱歉，今日停奶
'No milk today!'cried Farmer Brown.In the background,he heard
the cows busy at work：
“今天没奶!”布朗惊叫。与此同时，他又听到后院里传来了奶牛们打字的声音。

The next day,he got another notes:

The cows were growing impatient with the farmer.They left a
new note on the barn door.
奶牛们等啊等，终于，对农场主失去了耐心，它们在谷仓门口留下了一张新字条：
'No eggs!'cried Farmer Brown.In the background he heard
them.
“没蛋吃了!”布朗惊叫。与此同时，他又听到后院里传来奶牛们打字的声音。

was furious.
“奶牛在打字，母鸡在罢工!谁听说过这样的事!我的农场没奶也没蛋了，还能做什么!”布朗火冒三丈。
Farmer Brown got out his own typewriter.
Dear Cows and Hens:
There will be no electric blankets.You are cows and hens.I
demand milk and eggs.

农场主拖出了自己的打字机，给奶牛们也写了一封信。
亲爱的奶牛和母鸡：
我不会送给你们电热毯，你们是奶牛和母鸡，理所应当给我牛奶和鸡蛋。

Duck was a neutral party，so he brought the ultimatum to the
cows.
鸭子作为一个中立派，带着这张最后的通牒去见奶牛。
The cows held an emergency meeting.All the animals gathered
around the barn to snoop,but none of them could understand
Moo.
奶牛们开了一个紧急会议，农场里所有的动物都围着谷仓里探头探脑，可没有谁听得懂哞哞叫。
All night long,Farmer Brown waited for an
answer.
一整个晚上，布朗都在焦急的等着奶牛的回信。
Duck knocked on the door early the next morning.He handed
Farmer Brown a note:
第二天一大早，鸭子敲响了农场主的家门，它递给布朗一张字条。
Dear Farmer Brown,
We will exchange our typewriter for electric blankets.Leave
them outside the barn door and we will send Duck over with the
typewriter.

亲爱的农场主：
我们可以用旧打字机来交换电热毯。
请把电热毯放在谷仓门外，我们会让鸭子带走打字机。

Farmer Brown decided this was a good deal.He left the
blankets next to the barn door and waited for Duck to come with the
typewriter.
布朗觉得，这倒是个不错的想法，至少以后不用在听到奶牛们打字的声音了。
他立刻在谷仓门外留下了电热毯，然后就等鸭子带着那台打字机。
The next morning he got a note:
Dear Farmer Brown,
The pond is quite boring.
We'd like a diving board,

住在池塘里面可真无聊，请送我们一块跳水版吧!
